FAQ

  • What is competitive club soccer?
HIGH-LEVEL TRAINING AND COMPETITIVE GAMES. Our coaches and trainers make sure players develop technical and tactical skills, while also encouraging the creativity and improvisation that makes soccer so much fun. Teams practice multiple times a week and play in competitive regional leagues. Teams play in at least one tournament per season.
  • Cost to participate on a Dayton Kroc SC team?
Thanks to generous sponsors and our partnership with the Dayton Kroc Center, we offer a club soccer environment at very affordable costs: • $100 per season per athlete. Scholarships further reduce fees to ensure participation for eligible players. • Access to one of the area’s best soccer facilities — only a mile from Downtown Dayton! • Fees include uniforms, league and tournament costs. Uniforms are issued every two years. Additionally, club soccer participants and their families receive membership at the Kroc Center. Check out all the Kroc Center has to offer at Daytonkroc.com/sports.
  • What is 'Pay it Forward'?
As you may know, we are able to make competitive club soccer accessible and affordable to all families because of generous contributions from club sponsors. If you have the means and are interested in helping with our mission, you can help by paying more than the per season fee of $100 (e.g., $200 instead of $100). All surplus contributions will directly offset another player's fees.
  • How is a soccer year structured?
Club soccer seasons take place during the fall and spring. Tryouts: Early June (notification of status occurs shortly after tryouts) Fall season: August through October Spring season: March through May Seasons consists of approximately eight league games plus one weekend tournament. Practices are held 2-3 times/week. Teams are formed from age-eligible groups of boys and girls via tryouts.
  • Where do we play?
Our partnership with the Dayton Kroc Center allows our athletes to train and play games at the incredible Kroc Park in Dayton’s urban core. The park is located at 1000 N. Keowee and has two state-of-the-art turf soccer fields.
  • What is 'Pass It Back Soccer'?
Pass It Back Soccer has partnered with Dayton Kroc Soccer Club to provide gently used soccer equipment to our players with a need. As some kids outgrow their cleats before they've barely been used, it is a win economically and environmentally to pass down the equipment. To learn more, check it out at passitbacksoccer.org. Pass It Back Soccer Mission Statement: We believe youth soccer in our community is a wonderful opportunity not only to learn to play the game of soccer but also to teach the importance of hard work, being a great teammate, sportsmanship, and fitness. We believe every person who wants to play soccer should be able to play regardless of his or her ability to buy necessary equipment such as cleats, shinguards, and soccer balls. It is the goal of Pass It Back Soccer to find players and teams in the Miami Valley who are in need of proper, basic equipment. We will work hard to provide this service to as many players as possible so that those interested in youth soccer have the necessary equipment for them to participate and succeed.
  • Team naming standards?
The way the teams are named and grouped in the league can be confusing. Teams are named based on player gender (G for girls and B for boys) followed by the birth year of the oldest players on the team. There can be kids born in many years on the same team, but the team name is based on the oldest birth year. The team name will not change from season to season, or from year to year. For example, a Girls’ team for which the oldest players were born in 2009 will include the label G09. But players born in 2010 and 2011 can also be included on that team. To add to the confusion, there is another age group designation used by the MVYSA league – the “U” or “Under” designation. You will see this designation included when your team is assigned to the division it will play in and will be listed as U# with the U standing for “Under” and the # standing for the age of the oldest player. The U# and division the teams play in will change every year. For example, if the kids are playing in U12 this year, next year they will play in U13.
